About the IOCN

The International Organisations Coaching Network (IOCN) was established in 2019 with the primary objective of promoting coaching within the UN and IOs, providing a platform for personal and professional development and networking opportunities for internal coaches working in international organisations. The network welcomes coaches of all levels of experience who are full-time staff members at an international organisation and provide pro-bono coaching services to UN and IO staff members. 

The IOCN goals are twofold. Firstly, to align efforts among international organisations and establish a cohesive community of internal coaches, share common standards, establish a joint platform, and continuously enhance our competencies through learning. Secondly, to have coaching recognised in performance planning and career development to optimise resources and foster a coaching culture, boosting credibility and visibility within international organisations. 

The IOCN is a thriving community for coaches who are passionate about coaching, providing a space to network, share experiences and resources, as well as support and grow with each other. 

Currently, the network comprises over 150 internal coaches from over 40 organizations and meets regularly.

 

IOCN Vision and Mission

Our long-term vision is to establish a community of internal coaches among international organisations, fostering connections to share common standards, establish a joint platform, and continuously enhance our competencies through learning. Our ultimate goal is to have our expertise recognised within our respective organisations, by including coaching in performance planning and job descriptions. 

The purpose of our network is to optimise our resources, exchange best practices, and foster an effective coaching culture. We strive to increase the credibility and visibility of coaching services within the International Organisations by promoting inter-agency collaboration, creating an inventory of coaching resources to streamline our efforts, and maintaining and enhancing the knowledge and skills of internal coaches.

Jesús’ Mission Statement

Jesús is presently working for the United Nations Office at Geneva. He considers himself a life-long learner and has a multi-disciplinary background: a degree in modern languages, a post-graduate degree in pedagogy and a master’s degree in Human Resources. The learning and development field has been his professional home for over 17 years. 

He has experience coaching on different topics such as career support, communication skills, management and leadership among others. He obtained his certification in 2010 and coaching became part of his working life since then. In addition, He has equipped himself with other tools and techniques to refine his practice and offer different approaches depending on the situation, context and needs of his coaches.

   Katarina Posa

Katarina’s Mission Statement

Kata brings a diverse background in career coaching, consulting, facilitation, and training. In her current role at the IOM in Geneva, she leads the Career Development and Transition team, managing organisation-wide career development initiatives. Previously, at the IAEA in Vienna, she oversaw key programmes including career management, the mentoring programme, orientation and induction, and the dignity and inclusion learning initiative.

Kata is a strong advocate for inter-agency collaboration, and you may have encountered her through initiatives such as the "Virtual Power Coffee Hour" and "Career Tips Thursday." Prior to joining IOM, she held roles at UNHCR and UNICEF in Budapest and spent over 15 years in learning and development within the private sector in Beijing and Tokyo.

Her dedication to supporting colleagues' career growth has driven her to earn certifications in Everything DiSC, Global DiSC, Motivational Maps, Belbin Team Roles, Action Learning, Story Circles, LEGO Serious Play, and Positive Psychology. She is also an ICF-accredited coach.
